In 2017, on a getaway to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, Mary and her husband, Dr. Nick Damato, discovered something they’d never experienced before: a hydrotherapy circuit. Heat, cold, and rest- woven into a mindful rhythm that left them clear-headed, light, and completely renewed. They fell in love.
What you feel at Immerse today didn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of eight years of research, planning, and relentless refinement—plus a year-and-a-half of design and redesign during the buildout to get every detail just right.
From the beginning, Mary and Nick had two goals:
1. Maximize recovery with a performance-minded circuit rooted in proven thermic contrast.
2. Preserve true spa serenity: quiet, beautiful, unhurried.
When they came home to Connecticut, they looked for that same experience and realized there was nothing like it here. That spark became a promise: bring an authentic, elevated hydrotherapy circuit to their community.
To honor the origins of modern hydrotherapy, we sought out Italian designers and German architects- teams known for precision engineering, wellness ergonomics, and timeless aesthetics. Together, we curated a circuit where every transition, temperature, and texture supports how the body heals: from deep, dry heat to purifying steam, from mineral-rich warmth to an invigorating cold plunge, and finally to restorative rest.
Many of our spa elements and technologies are imported from Italy, ensuring an authentically European feel- both in performance and in ritual.
